Pam is absolutely the B-E-S-T massage therapist around. FIVE STARS! You would be hard pressed to find any better. I have been regularly receiving her massages for almost 14 years! She can take one of my migraine headaches away in a about 5minutes. Her massage is very intuitive, nurturing and pampering yet because she was trained in Canada, it is also like having the technical expertise of a doctor as well. OK, let’s talk about her HOT STONE massages. Once you have one of her HOT STONE massages you can never go back! It’s utterly the most relaxing massage I’ve ever experienced. If you can’t take a week off to go to Hawaii, schedule an hour or hour and half hot stone massage and you will thank yourself profusely for doing so. It is the perfect antidote to a stressful day/week. The perfectly heated palm-sized river stones in combination with the oil and her expertise in handling the stones while simultaneously massaging and running the stones along the muscles produces an extraordinary feeling of relaxation that –for me–last for days. I can’t say enough good things about Pam’s massages. I feel like she has ‘saved’ my body so many times over in the last 14 years. Aside from being a great massage therapist. she’s a wonderful human being too. She is very wonderful to her clients, very caring and listens carefully to what you need. Practically all my friends go to her now. Her massage room is very clean and comfortable and very relaxing. Great selection of music (if you like music during a massage but you can also opt to not have music).

Pam O’ Dea, Registered Massage Therapist, has been volunteering her services in San Francisco Unified School District since the fall of 2001 with her “Touch Lifting Community Program” (TLC) . Each week she randomly picks a school that has a list of teachers and principals who have signed up for the chance to receive a one-hour complementary massage at Pam’s private studio.
My school, Mission High School (MHS), where I work as a nurse practitioner, has 40 teachers on the list. MHS has the lowest achieving students of any schools in San Francisco and our teachers and principals have an unbelievable amount of stress. They work in a small war zone trying to fix the problems brought on by poverty, immigration, as well as family and community violence.
So far, 7 of our MHS teachers have received the gift of Pam’s TLC massage. Without exception, they have been delighted and have reported that it has helped them in dealing with their daily classroom stress. Pam also comes to us during our anti-violence month in January. Last January about 20 of our staff received a complementary chair shoulder and neck massage in our own Wellness Center. Typical responses were; “That just felt like a preview of heaven,” and “I feel as relaxed as a gummy bear.”
Eventually our goal is to get students’ involved in such practices as a healing massage circles. San Francisco is lucky to have a professional yet loving healer willing to volunteer her time in our schools and with our teachers. We dream that other professional healers will volunteer in our schools, as the need is too much for one person alone. I personally can recommend Pam’s TLC program to be adopted at any school district anywhere in the world.”
